Since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza, the Lebanese Resistance movement Hezbollah took it upon itself to stand in solidarity with the Resistance in Palestine.
That was the first step leading to the implementation of what is known as the ‘Unity of the Squares’, as in the unity of the battlefields between all anti-colonial and Resistance movements in the Middle East.
That unity eventually brought in the Yemeni Armed Forces affiliated with Ansarallah, and various Iraqi and Syrian movements, among others.
While the Israeli military is clearly undercounting its losses in Gaza, which according to Israeli hospital records and media are numbered in the many thousands, it simply does not declare its losses in the northern front altogether.
But there is much that we already know by simply gleaning information from the regular videos produced by Hezbollah, documenting many of their daring attacks, often showing Israeli ambulances carrying out the dead and the wounded.
This is what we know so far, based on Hezbollah’s documented evidence and statements, in addition to a recent infographic released on Monday by the group on their Telegram channel.
In the first five months of the war, Hezbollah has done the following:
It carried out 1,194 military operations.
It destroyed 68 Israeli military vehicles.
It targeted 38 command centers, 287 bunkers and fortifications, and 300 technical equipment.
It also hit 2 military factories, 22 artillery positions, and 2 Iron Dome platforms.
43 Israeli settlements were evacuated, while 230,000 settlers were displaced.
Types of weapons used included artillery, surface-to-surface rockets, sniper or machine guns, air defense, aerial drone attacks, guided missiles, and a variety of other weapons.
Finally, the number of those killed or wounded among the Israeli military is estimated to be over 2,000, according to the Hezbollah statement.
Even those people who know what imperialism is and what it's capable of, are still shocked by the brutality and willingness of the west to either turn a blind eye as to what's going on, or to weakly say that the bloody fascist netanyahu has " gone too far ". Fucking disgusting .
On Hypocrisy and Genocide – How Gaza Has Exposed the West Like Never Before
Now that some western leaders have begun to feel increasingly uncomfortable as the enormity of the Gaza genocide unfolds, a few, though bashfully, are declaring that Netanyahu may be ‘going too far’.
The Israeli genocide in Gaza will be remembered as the moral collapse of the West.
As soon as the Israeli war began, following the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation on October 7, every moral or legal frame of reference that Washington and its western allies supposedly held dear was suddenly dropped. Western leaders rushed to Israel, one after the other, offering military, political and intelligence support – along with a blank check to rightwing Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and his generals to torment the Palestinians.
The likes of the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, went as far as joining Israel’s first war council meeting, so that he could take part in the discussion which directly resulted in the Gaza genocide.
“I come before you not only as the United States Secretary of State, but also as a Jew,” he said on October 12. The interpretation of these words is disturbing, no matter how it is spun, but it also ultimately means that Blinken has lost all credibility as an American, as a politician or even as a fair-minded human being.
His boss, President Joe Biden, as if in an infinite loop, has been, for years, repeating that “You don’t have to be Jewish to be a Zionist”. Indeed, he has lived up to his maxim, declaring, time and again, “I am a Zionist”. Indeed, he is.
Like many other US and western officials and politicians, the US President abandoned international and humanitarian laws altogether, even the law of his own country. The Leahy Law “prohibits the US Department of State and Department of Defense from providing military assistance to foreign security force units that violate human rights with impunity.” Instead, he, like Blinken, subscribed to tribal affiliation and ideological notions, which simply added fuel to the fire.
Though “protected persons” under international law, Palestinians seem dispensable, in fact, irrelevant to the point that their collective death appears critical for Israel to regain its ‘deterrence’, and to protect itself, in the words of Israeli Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, against the “human animals” of Gaza.
If there is a stronger word than hypocrisy, one would have used it. But, for now, it would have to suffice.
At the beginning of the war, many rightly drew a parallel between the West’s reaction to Gaza and their enraged response to the war in Ukraine. However, as the death toll grew, this comparison seemed inadequate. Over 12,000 children have been killed in Gaza in 140 days of war, compared to 579 in the two-year Russia-Ukraine war.
Yet, when the EU Foreign Policy Chief, Josep Borrell, was asked, point blank, in an Al-Jazeera interview on November 20 about the violations of international law in Gaza, he offered two completely different answers. “I am not a lawyer,” he said, when the legality of Israel’s atrocities in Gaza were questioned. When the interviewer shifted to talk about Al-Aqsa Flood, Borrell had no qualms about the issue. “Yes, we consider that a war crime, for killing civilians in this apparent way without any reason,” he said.
This episode has not been repeated often in the US media, simply because few mainstream media journalists are bothered or, more accurately, dare to question Israel’s grisly behavior in the Gaza Strip.
However, when such opportunities arose, the flagrant hypocrisy was impossible to hide. Marvel, for example, at Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the US State Department, in response to rape allegations in both Gaza and Israel. When he was asked, on February 18, about allegations of rape by Israeli soldiers of Palestinian women in Gaza, his answer was that the US has urged Israel to “thoroughly and transparently investigate credible allegations”.
Compare this to his response to a question about unverifiable allegations of sexual assaults made by Palestinians against Israelis, although debunked even by Israel’s own media. “They’ve committed rape. We have no reason at all to doubt those reports,” he said at a press conference on December 4.
Such examples are produced daily by hundreds of western leaders, top officials and media organizations. Even now, when the death toll has broken all records of brutality in recent human history, they still speak of Israel’s “right to defend itself”, willfully ignoring the fact that Israel has forfeited this right as soon as it engaged in this prolonged aggression, starting in 1948.
Indeed, international law on the rules of wars and military occupation is situated within a framework – notably laid out by the Fourth Geneva Convention – that exists to defend the rights of the occupied, not the right of the Occupier.
This time-honored truth is obvious to the vast majority of humanity, save Washington and a few others.
As dozens of envoys from around the world testified before the International Court of Justice from February 19 to 26, protesting Israel’s horrific violence, protracted occupation and racial system of apartheid, the US sent its envoy to the highest Court in the world to lobby for something else entirely.
With the ironic title of “Acting legal adviser for the US State Department”, Richard Visek bizarrely urged the ICJ to ignore international law altogether. “The Court should not find that Israel is legally obligated to immediately and unconditionally withdraw from Occupied Territory,” he said.
For far too long, but especially since October 7, Western governments, starting with the US, have violated every last set of ethics, morality and laws that they themselves developed, drafted, promoted, even imposed on the rest of the world for many decades. Currently, they are practically dismantling their own laws, and the very ethical standards that led to their formation.
Now that some western leaders have begun to feel increasingly uncomfortable as the enormity of the Gaza genocide unfolds, a few, though bashfully, are declaring that Netanyahu may be ‘going too far’. Even so, not even an outright admission of responsibility would erase the fact that they are active participants in Netanyahu’s killing campaign.
When all is said and done, the blood of the horrifyingly high number of Palestinian victims will be shared equally between Tel Aviv, Brussels, London, Sidney and all other genocide apologists. A crime of this magnitude will never be forgotten or forgiven.
The official’s comments were made during an interview with the New Arab, which didn’t name the top Hamas source.
A top Hamas official said on Saturday that “the Resistance is fighting on multiple fronts; the battle on the indirect negotiations with the occupation is as fierce as the one on the ground in the Gaza Strip.”
The official’s comments were made during an interview with the New Arab, which didn’t name the top Hamas source.
The source said that “there is clear collusion between the US administration representative and the occupation government during the negotiation process,” describing what has taken place during the so-called Paris 2 as “a conspiracy between the occupation government and the administration of Joe Biden.”
“CIA Director William Burns informed one of the mediation parties that Hamas must completely abandon any demands for the release of Palestinian prisoners from among the symbols of the resistance and those with high sentences, and that Hamas and the factions’ demands should not exceed benefits related to humanitarian aid” only, the source said.
The source accused “the US administration negotiating on behalf of the occupation, not wanting the resistance to appear victorious by fulfilling its demands to complete a prisoner exchange deal.”
Excerpts from the Interview
“The starvation war imposed by the occupation government on the residents of the Gaza Strip, especially in the north, is coordinated fully between the American administration and the occupation government,” the source said.
“The occupation’s massacre on Al-Rashid Street in Gaza, during the distribution of aid was met with a green light from the U.S., aiming to pressure the Resistance to make concessions at the negotiation table that would strip the Palestinian people, residents of the Strip, and the Resistance of the gains achieved on October 7.
“The movement is preparing its final response to be delivered to the mediators regarding what was received from the Paris 2 framework and subsequent negotiations in Doha.
“The resistance’s insistence on releasing Palestinian prisoners and symbols of the Palestinian struggle from Israeli jails is not a sectional demand but carries symbolic significance.
“The resistance is committed to increasing the aid entering the Strip, reconstruction, relief for civilians, and a complete ceasefire.
“The Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, is in good health. The movement’s leader is still managing the scene on the ground and is in continuous secure communication with the movement’s leadership abroad.
“The condition of the (Al-Qassam) Brigades on the ground in the field is very good. What the resistance lost of its strength does not exceed 20% of its material capabilities, and in terms of human losses, it is much less than what the Israeli army announces.
“The main body of Al-Qassam Brigades in northern Gaza remains intact and cohesive, and the movement’s administrative structures in the northern Strip areas try as much as possible to alleviate the burden on the citizens there.
“The responsibility for rescuing the injured and elderly among the Israeli prisoners does not fall on the Israeli government alone but also on the American administration, which is fully responsible before the prisoners’ families for their lives.
“Two of six prisoners holding American nationality are at risk of death. Their health is in danger due to the difficulty of providing sufficient treatment after they suffered severe injuries from the Israeli bombing.”
(The translated excerpts from the interview were communicated by the Resistance News Network.)
When it comes to the news about a potential ceasefire in Gaza, who do you trust ? I'll tell you who I do not trust, and that's the assholes in the u.s.a. and israel. Everything they try to do will only serve to deny true justice in Gaza and everywhere else in the world.
Indirect Negotiations – Hamas Delegation Arrives in Cairo
A delegation from the Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas has arrived in Cairo, for talks on a possible ceasefire in the war in Gaza, Al-Jazeera reported.
Al-Jazeera quoted informed sources as saying that the meeting began at 2 PM local time (12 GMT), while no information has been received yet as to whether the Israeli delegation will head to Cairo to participate in the negotiations.
According to Al-Jazeera, Egyptian media quoted an unnamed high-ranking Egyptian source as confirming that negotiations would resume in Cairo on Sunday, indicating progress in the discussions.
For its part, Reuters quoted two Egyptian security sources as saying that the parties agreed on the duration of the truce in Gaza and the release of prisoners and detainees. According to the sources, completing the deal still requires agreeing on the withdrawal of Israeli forces from northern Gaza and the return of its residents.
On February 26, a report by Al-Jazeera suggested that a draft proposal for a Gaza truce had been agreed on by Israel. Moreover, on the same day, comments by US President Joe Biden suggested that a truce was likely to start on Monday.
However, in a statement distributed through the Hamas Telegram channel, top official Osama Hamdan said that leaked reports did not reflect reality.
“The American draft agreement aims to save face for Israel,” the Hamas official added, as the Palestinian priorities of stopping the (Israeli) aggression, ending the siege, bringing aid to besieged Gaza, and exchanging prisoners come later.
“There is an Israeli maneuver to escape all commitments, (and) promoting the Paris draft agreement is a propaganda situation that does not reach what we want.”
A temporary humanitarian truce was reached on November 24 and lasted for a week. During the truce, 240 Palestinian detainees were released from occupation prisons in exchange for the release of more than 100 detainees held by the resistance in Gaza, including about 80 Israelis.
Death Toll Rises
Currently on trial before the International Court of Justice for genocide against Palestinians, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7.
According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, 30,410 Palestinians have been killed, and 71,700 wounded in Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza starting on October 7.
Moreover, at least 7,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.
Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.
The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
Israel says that 1,200 soldiers and civilians were killed during the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation on October 7. Israeli media published reports suggesting that many Israelis were killed on that day by ‘friendly fire.’
And why the fuck wouldn't the ndp support israel over the Palestinians ? They are still part of and want to lead the kkkanadian imperialist war machine. Fuck them and all of their colleagues.
Jagmeet Singh’s refusal to delete a smear against internationalist, social justice, minded protesters encourages Israel’s genocide. Over 6,000 individuals have requested the NDP leader remove his anti-Palestinian slander, but Singh seems too scared of the fascistic, supremacist, genocide lobby to do what is right.
In a bid to deter Israel from slaughtering the 1.5 million Palestinians cloistered in Rafah thousands joined an emergency march in Toronto Monday evening. During the four-hour long march “Spiderman for Palestine” and another individual climbed atop scaffolding in front of a (closed) entrance to Mount Sinai Hospital to waive a Palestinian flag as they did at numerous other spots.
In response Canada’s genocide apparatus whipped up faux outrage that a public institution with Jewish roots was targeted. As he’s done in the past, Singh followed the apartheid lobby in smearing justice minded activists, claiming the march “targeted” the Toronto institution “because of its ties to the Jewish community.” But Singh’s statement is baseless, as is detailed in this article and this interview with a member of the Jews Against Genocide coalition.
Apparently, it doesn’t matter how many Palestinian children Israel kills. Singh remains committed to taking his cues from Canadian groups promoting the slaughter. It doesn’t matter how many Palestinian hospitals the apartheid lobby enables Israel to destroy. Singh acts like they are troubled by a Spider-Man costumed flag waiver outside a closed hospital entrance. Under the cover of opposing “antisemitism”, Singh continues to promote genocidal anti-Palestinianism.
Singh’s smear has, unsurprisingly, been cited by right wingers and Israeli nationalists to justify more racism and killing. In the National Post Chris Selley cited Singh’s endorsement of the Mount Sinai libel. So did the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs after Canada’s Special Representative on Combating Islamophobia Amira Elghawaby questioned the Mount Sinai hoax. In a post calling for her ouster, CIJA cited Singh’s post echoing their baseless claim about the hospital. If CIJA’s attacks on Elghawaby lead to a bout of Islamophobia Singh will be partly to blame. Singh’s smear also contributed to an alleged hate crime with an individual calling the Toronto police to threaten to kill protesters for targeting the hospital.
Singh’s Mount Sinai libel illustrates the remarkable disconnect between the popular uprising and parliamentary social democracy. Over the past 20 weeks there have been hundreds of mass protests across the country yet I’m only aware of one MP attending a Palestine protest. NDP MP Matthew Green spoke during a march in Toronto on November 12. (Conversely, the PM, Deputy PM, ministers and MPs have attended far smaller and less numerous pro-genocide rallies.)
One reason MPs have not attended the demonstrations is out of a concern for being smeared (Green was forced to release a statement defending himself after speaking in Toronto). By besmirching Monday’s anti-genocide march Singh is making it even more difficult for MPs to attend protests (presumably he has privately warned NDP MPs against attending). The dearth of political participation reduces media coverage and the impact of the protests. It also enables the increasing criminalization of the protests. It’s no coincidence that after the remarkable smear against Monday’s demonstration the Toronto police threatened $10 000 fines to anyone leading chants on the moving truck at the front of Saturday’s march.
In Vancouver the city’s police department released a statement prior to Saturday’s demonstration calling on protesters not to obstruct hospitals. In effect, the smear (somewhat contradictorily) is being broadened into the notion that the anti-genocide marches are “targeting” hospitals.
(A prominent genocide campaigner in Vancouver, Bob Mackin, posted the police statement with a note that the city’s St Paul’s hospital — which has Catholic roots but may have Jewish staff — is 1.3km from the announced starting point of the march. He followed that up with a post noting the protesters passed the central intersection of Burrard and Robson, meaning “The VPD request to avoid impeding routes used to access the hospital fell upon deaf ears.”)
According to social media company’s data, 2.4 million viewed Singh’s anti-genocide smear on X. That is far more interaction than his usual posts with the comments and quote tweets overwhelmingly hostile. In addition, as mentioned above, 6,000 individuals have emailed Singh requesting he delete his post.
His lack of action demonstrates how much he, and other politicians, fear the apartheid lobby’s reaction. Removing his post would draw into question their big “antisemitism” lie tactic. It would help disable the power of the lie to intimidate.
Millions of Canadians oppose the smears based on lies and the justifications for genocide that go along with them and would cheer Singh deleting the post. He should embrace the truth and do what’s right.
Please take a minute to email Singh and all the NDP MPs to demand he remove his anti-Palestinian post
