ENDURANCE

The fascist aggressors thought they'd have taken the country in a matter of days, but they underestimate the strength and will of the people, and overestimate their weaponry and the desire of their troops to fight an unjust war.....fuck imperialism. Just like the amerikkkans lose everywhere they set foot, so too will the russians.

Zelensky: We endured much more than enemy expected and we will continue to fight

Zelensky: We endured much more than enemy expected and we will continue to fight

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Ukrainians endured much more than the enemy expected and they will continue to fight until the end, until they have strength and opportunities.

The head of state said this in a video address.

Ukrainians!

Our defenders!

The 36th day of our nationwide defense after eight years of war in Donbas is coming to an end. It’s hard to believe that, but March has already passed. Absolutely imperceptible!

The passage of time is somehow not even noticed. Every day and every night has become virtually the same for us. The same day, the same night.

And with one task for all - to protect ourselves, save people, rebuff invaders. Drive them out.

All this March and five days of February, the invaders have been trying to break in and gain a foothold in our house from different directions - from land, from the sky, from the sea. They go, fly, swim... There is so much evil in them, so much thirst for destruction that it reminds not of people, but of something otherworldly. Some monsters that burn and loot, attack and try to kill. Some hellish chimeras.

But when you are on your land, everything helps you. The land itself, rivers, every person. Everyone, even the one you didn't expect from before. We endured much more than the enemy expected.

They said - three or five days. They thought that this would be enough for them to seize our entire state. And it’s already 36. And we are standing. And we will continue to fight. Until the end.

Until we have strength and opportunities.

So that there are no monsters left on our land. So that if chimeras (points to the House with Chimeras - ed.), then native and good. The ones protecting us.

I am sure that it is extremely pleasant for each of you to read and watch the news that Ukrainian cities are gradually being liberated from the occupiers.

And so it is. Our Armed Forces, the National Police and the National Guard, intelligence are doing great. Absolute gratitude to them!

To the north of Kyiv, in the Chernihiv direction, in the Sumy region, the expulsion of the occupiers continues. They themselves are aware that they can no longer withstand the intensity of hostilities they could have maintained in the first half of March.

But we must also realize that for the Russian military, this is part of their tactics. All this is not occasional. We know their plans. We know what they are planning and what they are doing.

We know that they are moving away from the areas where we are beating them to focus on others that are very important. On those where it can be difficult for us.

That is why it is very important for everyone to show restraint. Restraint in emotions. Restraint in worries. We all equally want to win. Equally!

But there will be battles ahead. We still have a very difficult path to cover to get everything we strive for.

Of course, everyone should motivate our military, each other, and support our defense. Children - with "likes". Parents - with a warm word. Volunteers - with help. The people and the state - with all the resources and opportunities that we have, that are available in Ukraine.

Restraint in emotions, readiness to fight until we win and proper motivation for our military are essential elements.

I also work on motivation for them. Daily. Like each of us.

As always, before delivering the address, I signed a decree awarding our heroes. 136 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thank you to everyone!

And today another decision was made. Regarding antiheroes. Now I do not have time to deal with all the traitors. But gradually they will all be punished.

That is why the ex-chief of the Main Department of Internal Security of the Security Service of Ukraine Naumov Andriy Olehovych and the former head of the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region Kryvoruchko Serhiy Oleksandrovych are no longer generals.

According to Article 48 of the Disciplinary Statute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, those servicemen among senior officers who have not decided where their homeland is, who violate the military oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people as regards the protection of our state, its freedom and independence, will inevitably be deprived of senior military ranks. Random generals don't belong here!

And to the real heroes of the Security Service - the same absolute gratitude, just as to each and everyone who sincerely defends our state. There are really a lot of heroes among the servicemen. We are grateful to them!

The situation in the south and in Donbas remains extremely difficult.

The invaders are allocating their sick creativity to the temporarily occupied areas of the Kherson region. They are trying to organize some of their incomprehensible structures there, they are trying to figure out how to consolidate their presence there.

Of course, this is hopeless for them. The more active they are there, the more substantial the losses of Russia itself will be in the end. The losses of Russians themselves. Because who else will pay for the occupation of a foreign land?

Also in Donbas, in Mariupol, in the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops are accumulating the potential for strikes. Powerful strikes. We will defend ourselves. We will do everything we can to stop the occupiers and clear our land of their evil and foolish chimeras.

Today I addressed the parliaments of our partner countries: Australia, the Netherlands and Belgium. I felt total support. I am waiting for concrete steps. I called for tougher sanctions against Russia. We have to put pressure on the aggressor until the aggression is over.

I also spoke about this with President of the European Council Charles Michel. We need more support from our partners right now. When the Russian military is concentrating additional forces in certain areas.

In addition to sanctions, we discussed with Charles Michel economic support for Ukraine, financing of priority projects. The dynamics of our movement towards full membership in the EU.

The sanctions policy was one of the topics of conversation between Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak and US National Security Advisor Jacob Sullivan.

The United States has imposed a new package of sanctions against Russia. We are grateful. It will not allow the current sanctions to be circumvented - we have already noticed such attempts. It will also limit the work of sensitive sectors of the Russian economy - its defense sector.

Let Moscow not forget that the sanctions policy will only be continued and intensified. As long as there is no peace - sanctions are needed. Until Russia begins to invest as sincerely in the search for peace as it invests in the destruction of our state, sanctions will remain unalterable.

I also held talks with President of Turkey Erdoğan today. We spoke very specifically. In particular, about the prospects of negotiations in Turkey with the Russian Federation. And also about the creation of an effective system of guarantees for our state. About the security we have always needed and to the real provision of which we have come closer. I am grateful for Turkey's readiness to become a guarantor of security for Ukraine.

And finally. Both I and government officials have already said that the "Diia" state service has started accepting applications for compensation for the destroyed real estate of our citizens. The state will return to our people everything that the occupiers destroyed - houses, apartments, etc.

In a few days, 25,491 applications have already been submitted. The number of residents in these houses and these apartments, which were destroyed, according to our estimates is 63 thousand 471 people. But we know that more needs to be restored. Much more.

So tell everyone who needs it about such a government program. An important program. The opportunity to submit applications will soon be available offline, in the administrative service centers, in the mode usual for many Ukrainians.

No matter what, we all have to think about the future. About what Ukraine will be like after this war. How we will live. Because this is a war for our future. This is a war for our lives, in which we have only one way - to gain peace for Ukraine. To gain Ukraine's security.

Glory to all our heroes!

Glory to Ukraine!

IS THIS WHAT THEY MEAN ?

Is this what the russians say when they claim they're going to "de-nazify" and "liberate" Ukraine ? They have a lot more in common with the u.s.a. than they'd care to admit.

Zelensky: Russian troops daily launch 40 missiles on Ukraine

Zelensky: Russian troops daily launch 40 missiles on Ukraine

Russian troops fire an average of 40 missiles a day on Ukrainian populated localities.

“40 missiles. Every day, Russian troops use so many different but equally deadly missiles against our state, against Ukraine. This is the average number per day,” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in his video address to the Parliament of Denmark, the Folketing.

More than 1,370 missiles have been launched in just over a month of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the President noted.

Moreover, the total number of means of destruction that Russian troops have already used against our people on our land is simply impossible to count, Zelensky said.

On February 24, Russian president Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops shell and destroy infrastructure, massively fire on the residential areas of Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages using artillery, MLRS, missiles, and aviation bombs

THEY THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE EASY

The russian aggressors thought it was going to be easy to just march in and take over Ukraine. Think again, fuckers !

Ukrainian Air Force destroys 8 enemy planes, 3 helicopters

On March 28, the Ukrainian Air Force hit 17 enemy air targets, including eight planes and three helicopters.

The command of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"On March 28, the Air Force hit 17 air targets: eight planes, three helicopters, four UAVs and two racist cruise missiles," the report says.

It is noted that the Ukrainian Air Force continues to launch missile and bomb strikes on armored vehicles and manpower of the Russian occupiers in various directions.

As Ukrinform reported, on March 28, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 12 tanks, 10 infantry fighting vehicles and 3 vehicles in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions.

In the area of the Operational and Tactical Group East, Russian invaders lost up to 70 troops, seven tanks, four infantry fighting vehicles and two drones.

A BASIC FACT

This short article perfectly sums up why we should also condemn the u.s.a.'s many invasions of other countries, while at the same time , of course, saying that russia's destruction of Ukraine is wrong and must be opposed.

A BASIC PRINCIPLE ON THE WAR IN UKRAINE

DOWNLOAD PDF OF THIS ARTICLE FOR PRINT

Certainly, the big power bullying and aggression by Russia, with its invasion of Ukraine a clear example, is something that all decent people should oppose. But no decent person should be joining in with the U.S. imperialists in their rivalry with Russian imperialism. For reasons I will get into here, it is utter, disgusting hypocrisy for the U.S. imperialists, and their media mouthpieces and other representatives, to be self-righteously condemning this Russian invasion, when the U.S. is the country which has, by far, carried out the most invasions and other acts of violent interference in other countries....

For those of us who are not willing to be blinded by this [GTF*], we can and must confront and analyze reality as it actually is, and draw the necessary conclusions. Besides the fact that the U.S. is today, and has historically been, allied with many “authoritarian” governments throughout the world (and, in fact, has forcibly installed such governments in many countries), the even more fundamental fact is that the essence of the conflict between the U.S. and countries like Russia and China is not one between “democracy” and “authoritarianism,” but is a matter of rivalry among imperialist powersall of which are monstrous oppressors of masses of people, and none of which represent or act in the interests of humanity. What is called for, and urgently now, is to oppose all imperialist marauders and mass murderers, and all systems and relations of oppression and exploitation, while giving particular emphasis to opposing “our own” imperialist oppressors who commit their monstrous crimes “in our name” and seek to rally us to support them on the basis of a grotesque American chauvinism, which we must firmly reject and fiercely struggle against.

*****

Of course, this act of imperialist aggression by Russia deserves to be condemned. But especially for people residing in this country—which, again, by far holds the record for such acts of aggression—it is a matter of basic principle and profound importance not to be echoing the positions and serving the aims of  “our” imperialists, and instead to be making very clear our opposition to the aims and actions of these (U.S.) imperialists, who are using opposition to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, not as a way of promoting “peace,” or “the right of nations to self-determination,” but as means of furthering U.S. imperialist interests, in opposition to the rival Russian imperialists. So, in keeping with this crucial principle, any opposition to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, particularly by people in this imperialist country, should be accompanied by a clear and definite stand of also opposing the role of the U.S. in the world, including the wars it continually wages, and other ways it violently interferes in other countries.

THEY KNOW NOTHING

There are some opportunist weasels lacking any class analysis whatsoever, who think they are somehow being "anti-imperialist" when they oppose the u.s.a. on the russian invasion and destruction of Ukraine . They are not. This is not so black and white . russia is not a force for progress or liberation in the world , just as the amerikkkans aren't . Pull your fucking head out of your ass.

IMPERIALIST ALLIANCE

Imperialism is not a policy or strategy . It is an oppressive and predatorial system . It will not and cannot change . The only way for it to actually "change" is for it to be defeated finally and completely. Our smarmy little fuck prime minister is only too enthusiastic about nato and imperialism in general, even if he does not call it what it is. nato and the west share much of the blame for what's going on in Ukraine .

NATO all about American power and military industrial complex

Canada needs to break its addiction to one of the most dangerous and violent alliances in human history.

Justin Trudeau is currently in Brussels to attend a special summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Canada’s prime minister will likely praise an alliance that has become more belligerent – with wars in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and Libya – as its Cold War pretext fades further from view.

After French President Emanuel Macron criticized NATO as “brain-dead” in November 2019 Trudeau immediately defended the alliance. A month later he declared, “for 70 years, NATO has been fundamental to Canada’s security and defence, and we remain committed to this alliance. In recent years, Canada has strengthened its engagement in NATO, taking on vital leadership roles. Today, Canada is leading NATO missions in Latvia, Iraq, and NATO maritime forces in the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea.”

Other prime ministers have expressed even greater fidelity to the alliance. At the end of his career Lester Pearson described the “formation of NATO”, not UN peacekeeping, as the “most important thing I participated in.” In 1963 Pearson told Parliament, “NATO has been the foundation of the foreign policy of Canadian governments ever since it was formed in 1949, and it will continue to be so.”

Some believe NATO was a Canadian idea. At the UN General Assembly in September 1947 External Affairs Minister Louis St. Laurent warned the floor that if the Security Council’s veto crisis were not resolved countries would establish a NATO-type organization. His speech was the “first public proposal by a cabinet minister in the Atlantic area for an alliance for that region”, notes Maureen Patricia Cronin in Canada and Nato. In March 1948 Canada participated in top-secret talks with Britain and the US about the possibility of creating a North Atlantic alliance.

Since 1949 NATO is “the alliance to which Canada had devoted perhaps 90 percent of its military effort”, explained military historian Jack Granatstein in 2007. More recently, Canada’s representative to the North Atlantic Council, Kerry Buck, boasted that Canada has “participated and contributed to every NATO mission, operation and activity since NATO’s founding.”

Between 1950 and 1958 Ottawa donated a whopping $1.53 billion ($8 billion today) in ammunition, fighter jets, military training, etc. to European countries through NATO’s Mutual Aid Program. Canada armed France, Belgian and Britain as they violently suppressed independence struggles in Algeria, Vietnam, Kenya, Congo and elsewhere.

From the early 1950s to early 1990s over 100,000 Canadian troops were stationed in Europe as part of NATO missions. In the late 1960s the Canadian air force had some 250 atomic bombs at its disposal in Europe.

As a sign it wasn’t designed to protect Western Europe from Soviet aggression, Canada supported expanding NATO after the Cold War. Despite promises to Soviet officials that NATO wouldn’t expand one inch eastward if they accepted German reunification, Prime Minister Jean Chretien immediately pushed to bring in new members upon taking office in 1993. Without so much as a debate in Parliament, Canada was the first NATO country to approve the enlargement of the alliance in 1998. Canada has continued to push NATO expansion, including incorporating Ukraine.

During the alliance’s 1999 bombing of Yugoslavia Canadian fighter jets flew 10% of all “strike missions” while 40,000 Canadians fought in Afghanistan in the 2000s. A Canadian general led NATO’s 2011 bombing of Libya.

NATO is attractive to Ottawa for a series of reasons. At the outset, the alliance was designed to suppress western European leftwing parties and to bring the declining colonial powers under the US geopolitical umbrella. No country was better placed to benefit from growing US hegemony (and without formal colonies Ottawa had little reason to fear US encroachment in the Global South).

Continuing/expanding the alliance after the demise of the Soviet Union undercut European centric security initiatives, which weaken Washington’s influence. Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev’s call for a “Common European home” with security and economic arrangements from Lisbon to Vladivostok was a threat to North American power.

Alongside US domination of Europe, NATO is also about the military industrial complex.

The more emphasis placed on interoperability among NATO members the better for US arms manufacturers. Not only does the US have by far the most advanced military, the US places various restrictions on foreign weapons purchases, so NATO standardization overwhelmingly takes place on US terms.

Since many Canadian weapons companies are branch plants of US firms, NATO interoperability is also good for Canadian industry. Additionally, the 65-year-old Defence Production Sharing Agreement gives Canadian companies’ unique access to bid on US military contracts and they often provide components to weapons US firms export internationally.

Not long after becoming prime minister in 1968 Pierre Trudeau remarked, “NATO had in reality determined all of our defence policy. We had no defence policy, so to speak, except that of NATO. And our defence policy had determined all of our foreign policy. And we had no foreign policy of any importance except that which flowed from NATO.”

Peace-minded citizens and those opposed to the military-industrial complex must call for an end to Canada’s addiction to NATO

NOT BLACK & WHITE

The truth is, russia should not be in Ukraine destroying the place and killing civilians . That being said, when russia says that The Council Of Europe is a "russophobic tool of the west", they are correct. nato is also , and should have been disbanded long ago . It is nothing but the naked tool of the imperialists pushing their agenda on to the entire world. And when the amerikkkans say they are going to investigate the russian invasion for war crimes they may have committed, there is nothing more hypocritical that could be said on the fucking planet. How many countries have they destroyed in pursuit of profits and domination ? How many children have they killed and continue to do so ? Bombing hospitals and schools ? Rape ? No one equals the amerikkkans when it comes to war crimes and crimes against humanity in general. The u.s.a. and russia should both be tried for war crimes and genocide. Fuck 'em both and death to imperialism !

HOPE AMIDST THE LIES

For all of their official talk of only targeting military sites , the russians appear to have had no issue with destroying hospitals and residential apartment blocks. And why not ? Their amerikkkan counterparts do the same thing , with very little in the way of consequences , unless you consider their never winning any war they start to be consequences.
Let's hope the peace talks continue, and this comes to an end soon. No matter what, the russians will not win.

FUCK IMPERIALISM NOW AND ALWAYS

There have been calls to have putin made to stand trial for war crimes, or crimes against humanity. Fair enough , he's a fucking petty tyrant and small time imperialist asshole . That being said, the fucking u.s.a. and all of their accomplices should also stand trial for the mass destruction of Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and countless other countries. Thousands of mass graves in these countries cry out for justice , but the people of the west are more concerned about Ukraine because they look like them . Don't get me wrong , the situation in Ukraine is fucking horrible and unjust , but Afghanistan ?! Seriously . Will that country ever get on it's feet again ? Fucking amerikkkan foreign policy . They are easily the most rapacious and destructive empire that has ever existed . It might be easy to forget that in the current political climate , but should not be. They are not a force for justice or peace, although Ukraine should take whatever help they can right now. Keep your eyes open. Fuck any and all imperialism.

TWO POSSIBILITIES

The western media reported yesterday that russian forces bombed a maternity hospital in Ukraine . Is it possible they did ? Of course. Is it possible the media is lying, especially the amerikkkan media ? Hell yes. I am inclined to believe the russians did it , as they are under a lot of international pressure and want to instill terror in the population to bring the war to an end in their favour. It doesn't look like it's going to happen soon though. Fuck putin , biden, trudeau , and all of those crooked motherfuckers. Russian troops out of Ukraine !

SMASH 'EM ALL

The invasion and destruction of Ukraine is all about the battle between russian and amerikkkan imperialism. The world will be better off once all imperialism and capitalism in general is wiped off the face of the earth. Smash 'em all.

INFLAMED UKRAINE WORLD WAR AHEAD, SMASH IMPERIALIST BUTCHERS

The Russian capitalist bosses have invaded Ukraine. It’s impossible to know how this war will ultimately play out, but we do know that small wars can lead to larger wars, particularly in volatile times. The war in the Ukraine is a nightmare brought about by the rivalry among the U.S., Russian, and Chinese capitalist rulers. There are no good sides among these imperialist butchers. Our class, the working class, must take on all bosses. We must turn the imperialists’ wars for profit into war to liberate our class with communist revolution.
As the old liberal world order disintegrates, capitalism has come to be defined by constant invasions and wars--from the Middle East, where the big imperialists have fought to control the region’s oil, to Africa, where capitalists big and small compete for control of vital resources.
U.S. and Russian bosses murder the working class
The racism of the U.S. and European bosses focuses the world on the war in Ukraine. U.S. and European reporters visibly express concern for people in Ukraine while the daily death rained down by U.S. imperialism on the working class in the Middle East is normalized and blamed on the victims (LA Times, 3/1). But on the scale of workers murdered for bosses’ power, the invasion of Ukraine is more the same than different from the invasions of Iraq or Afghanistan by the U.S. bosses. Putin is no different than the Bushes, Barack Obama or Bill Clinton in his willingness to slaughter workers for their billionaire masters.  While the cluster bombing of civilians in Ukraine exposes the Russian bosses (once again) as war criminals, the U.S. is unmatched for the callous slaughter of workers and children.
Since 2001, the U.S. bosses have dropped 326,000 bombs and missiles on the working class in the Middle East. (Australian National Review, 2/28). Clinton’s Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, infamously stated that the killing of 500,000 Iraqi children by U.S. sanctions “was worth it”(Salon, 5/11/16).
Over 500,000 people have been killed directly by weapons in the U.S. invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. The number of deaths from starvation, illness and lack of medical care is far greater than that. (U.S. News, 9/10/21). All this brings the holocaust of workers in Iraq and Afghanistan committed by the U.S. bosses to over 1.5 million people.  If Putin is supposed to be “unhinged” (Business Insider, 2/28) what does that make  Clinton or Albright or Obama?
 Smash imperialism with communist revolution
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was triggered by the U.S. bosses’ expanding NATO to Russia’s front door. Seeing the U.S. empire declining, the Russian bosses are pushing back.  The U.S. bosses, while weakening, are not without power. They have gotten the European bosses to join with them in economic sanctions against Russia that is sharpening the conflict. The result is a situation where direct war between the imperialists is becoming more likely. Since both sides have nuclear weapons, nuclear war becomes a possibility as well.
Beyond the U.S and Europe, the Chinese bosses, having given tacit approval to Russia’s invasion, are also getting ready for bigger war. One possible outcome is that Russia is economically and militarily pushed even closer to China. That would give the Chinese ruling class an advantage as they prepare for war with the U.S.
This is the nature of inter-imperialist rivalry. Nation states and capitalism are killing our class. We must get rid of capitalism and a society based on nations. We are one class around the globe; it only benefits the bosses when we are divided. We must not be misled or deceived by the capitalists’ calls for “freedom” or “democracy.” Whether “democracies” or “autocracies,” all countries in the world today are capitalist dictatorships. The current government of Ukraine, being hailed by the U.S press as a bastion of democracy, came to power by the U.S overthrowing a democratically elected pro-Russian government. In that coup the U.S. bosses partnered with pro-U.S. avowed Ukranian Nazis(Guardian, 4/30/14). That’s why the current Ukrainian military has openly Nazi units(OpIndia, 2/28). The racism of the Ukrainian ruling class was on full display as Black students trying to leave the country were beaten by Ukrainian soldiers and not allowed on trains(NY Times,  3/2).
In this period, where capitalism is descending into a new level of hell, it is imperative for our class and our Progressive Labor Party to forge a new way forward by smashing the rotten profit system with communist revolution. While changing the course of imperialist war is a monumental task, it is something our class has done before. We must attack head-on the nationalism and racism being spread among our class by the bosses. The working class in Russia is showing bravery by protesting the latest inter-imperialist conflict in the streets. The same cannot be said for our class in the United States and Europe, where large numbers have fallen in line with U.S. imperialism and the U.S. rulers’ slogans supporting the Ukrainian bosses. To protest the Russian bosses’ war in Ukraine without attacking and exposing U.S. imperialism is a racist denial of the mass murder in the Middle East and around the world. Most dangerous of all, it misleads workers to support the U.S. bosses’ attempts to prepare for the next world war. In everything we do, we must be clear that the only way out of this nightmare is to build a revolutionary communist movement of the working class that smashes capitalism with workers’ power.

IWD

  Happy International Womens Day !
Never forget the struggles women have to go through every single day all over this unjust world .

International Working Women’s Day means solidarity

International Working Women’s Day is commemorated around the world on March 8. Two words signify its essence: solidarity and struggle.

Ontario Federation of Labor

Established in 1910 at an International Women’s Socialist Conference in Copenhagen, this special day was intended to broaden global solidarity and strengthen ties among women workers.

IWWD’s socialist founders deplored the terrible working conditions faced by women workers, as they poured into factories in the U.S., Europe and elsewhere. They noted the strikes and massive demonstrations held by women immigrants in New York City.

The day’s first commemoration took place in Europe in 1911, as 1 million women marched for jobs and their rights. Then in 1913 and 1914, women on that continent demonstrated against the looming world war and to build solidarity among women in belligerent countries.

New York City women workers on strike, 1912

IWWD demonstrations worldwide have opposed imperialist war and oppression. This year Workers World calls for solidarity with women and people of all genders living under the gun of U.S./NATO-backed wars, occupations, sanctions and blockades, and all people oppressed by U.S.-backed dictatorships. We back those defending their countries against imperialist economic and military aggression.

WW supports our siblings in Cuba, building a socialist society attentive to women and gender-nonconforming people, prioritizing people’s needs and showing international solidarity.

It is essential to extend solidarity to workers superexploited by global capitalism, including millions of women migrant workers, incarcerated workers, and all  people demanding economic, social and political rights. We adamantly support Indigenous women worldwide, leading the fight against corporate destruction of the planet.

WW supports struggles against racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ableism and physical and sexual abuse on and off the job. We call for reproductive justice everywhere.

On IWWD, we applaud the fights for unionization, with workers of color, women and gender-nonconforming people in the forefront, including Starbucks and Amazon workers here in the U.S.

Capitalist governments give lip service to the significance of IWWD with receptions and proclamations about women’s equality, while corporations try to commercialize it.

Nevertheless, International Working Women’s Day’s working-class roots and overriding theme of global solidarity break through.

On March 8, working women from varied industries and workplaces, those of all nationalities, genders, cultures, religions and ages always proudly demonstrate with colorful banners held high.

TWO FACED FOREIGN POLICY

As usual, we are not getting the entire story from our politicians , the lying corrupt motherfuckers. Of course the invasion of Ukraine must be condemned, but how the fuck did we get to this point ? kkkanada is not fucking innocent .

Lack of Canadian support for Minsk agreements a lost opportunity

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a flagrant violation of international law that must be condemned. But that doesn’t mean we should ignore how Canada’s opposition to a diplomatic solution to the war in eastern Ukraine increased the likelihood of escalating conflict.

The Minsk agreements were designed to overcome the violence and division caused by the Canadian-backed ouster of elected President Victor Yanukovych in 2014. Negotiated by France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine, Minsk I and II proposed a more federalist Ukrainian politics.

Signed in February 2015, Minsk II included provisions around a ceasefire, withdrawing heavy weapons and prisoner release. More fundamentally, it called for reforming Ukraine’s constitution to grant autonomy to areas of the eastern Donbas region as part of reintegrating the two breakaway republics into central government control. Both sides failed to fully comply with Minsk II, but the primary culprit was the government in Kyiv.

Ostensibly, the Canadian government supported Minsk II, which was unanimously endorsed by the United Nations Security Council. But in practice Ottawa worked against its implementation.

Canadian silence on Minsk II speaks volumes. I searched the Major Canadian Dailies database with the names of Canada’s recent foreign ministers (Stéphane Dion, Chrystia Freeland, François-Philippe Champagne, Marc Garneau and Mélanie Joly) alongside the words “Minsk” and “Ukraine”. There’s little mention of Minsk II by Canadian officials.

After a brief meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of a November 2015 G20 summit newly elected Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared, “I pointed out that (while) Canada has shifted its approach on a broad range of multilateral and international issues, we remain committed to the fact that Russia’s interference in Ukraine must cease, that we stand with the Ukrainian people, and expect the president to engage fully in the Minsk peace process.” During a visit to Kyiv eight months later the Canadian Press reported, “Trudeau complimented the Ukrainian government for ‘extremely important and difficult steps’ it had made in meeting its obligations under last year’s Minsk II peace agreement before condemning Russia’s annexation of Crimea and its failure to abide by the Minsk accord.” The article said that Ukrainian officials were happy with Trudeau’s comments as Dion had previously expressed a desire to recalibrate relations with Russia “when we have common interests.”

After Freeland replaced Dion as foreign minister in January 2017 Canada’s position hardened. “We will continue to put pressure on Russia, including through the existing sanctions, until the Russian Federation completely fulfills the commitments undertaken in accordance with the Minsk agreements and uses its influence on separatists to force them to fulfill their obligations,” declared Freeland in March 2017.

After that I couldn’t find any mention of Minsk II until Moscow recognized the breakaway republics in the Donbas two weeks ago (ending any possibility that Minsk II would be implemented). In a release titled “Canada strongly condemns Russia’s move to recognize independence of two regions within Ukraine”, foreign minister Mélanie Joly “strongly condemns President Putin’s recognition of the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk as independent territories. This constitutes a clear violation of the Minsk agreements.”

Right wing Ukrainian Canadians have long been hostile to the Minsk process. In 2017 the head of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Paul Grod, told the Standing Committee on National Defence that Minsk II was “stale-dated” and would never be implemented. He instead called “to force Russia’s hand to remove their military, their equipment, and their financing of the separatists” in the Donbas.

Ottawa did not simply fail to publicly support or press Kyiv to implement Minsk II. They undermined the peace agreement by building up Ukrainian security forces obstructing their implementation. While it’s received little attention, violence has devastated the Russian-oriented eastern Ukraine for eight years. About 14,000 people had been killed before Russia’s full scale recent invasion with the Ukrainian military responsible for the bulk of deaths. Between 2018 and 2021, reports the UN, 81.4% of civilian casualties in the fighting were in separatist-held territory.

Ottawa has devoted significant resources to creating a military that disintegrated amidst the political upheaval and violence after the 2014 coup. Canada signed a Defence Cooperation Agreement with Ukraine and Canadian officials have been part of Ukraine’s Defence Reform Advisory Board “providing strategic advice on defence reform to Ukraine’s Minister of Defence and senior officials”. In 2017 Ottawa added Ukraine to Canada’s Automatic Firearms Country Control List, which allows companies to export weapons to that country with little restriction. At the same time the US and UK have pumped multiple billions of dollars’ worth of weapons into the Ukraine.

Alongside their US and UK counterparts, the Canadian military has trained more than 30,000 Ukrainian troops since 2015. As part of Operation UNIFIER, 200 Canadian troops — rotated every six months — worked with Ukrainian soldiers on sniper training, military engineering, explosive-device disposal, etc.

A March 2017 Canadian Press story on the extension of Canada’s military training mission quoted the Russian embassy linking Operation Unifier to Minsk II. The “Canadian government’s decision to extend the military mission in Ukraine is counterproductive and does not facilitate intra-Ukrainian political process, including direct dialogue between Kyiv and Donbass, as prescribed by the Minsk accords,” said Kirill Kalinin, a spokesperson for the embassy in Ottawa. “Canada should exert pressure on the authorities in Kyiv to implement their obligations under the Minsk accords and concentrate on reaching a peaceful solution instead of pursuing military ventures.”

It’s ironic that Canada, which prides itself on its federalist political structure, effectively opposed Minsk II. At its core the accord is about adopting a more federalist structure in a country linguistically and culturally divided largely based on geography. Today, the government in Kyiv appoints governors across the country. Imagine the political problems that would arise if a Québec dominated federal government appointed the premier of Alberta or a Western dominated government appointed the premier of Québec.

If Ottawa wasn’t intent on using the Ukraine as a proxy to weaken Russia, Canada would have been well-placed to assist that country in becoming a federal state. While we should strenuously condemn Russia’s appalling invasion, Canadians should also ask why our government refused to press Kyiv to follow the Minsk peace process.

A LOT TO ANSWER FOR

Of course the invasion of Ukraine by russia is an aggressive fascistic act , and I hope for the defeat of russia as soon as possible. However, this has been being set up for years, with the western powers trying to surround russia with nato bases and constantly provoking them . What if the russians had made a military pact with Mexico ? You can bet your ass that kkkanada and the amerikkkans would have something to fucking say about that ! No one in this scenario is innocent , but the russians should get the fuck out , and nato should fuck off also.
Good night.

FUCK ALL IMPERIALISM

We don't often find ourselves on the same side as reactionary capitalist governments, but this war of aggression must be stopped.

Proletarians of all countries, unite!

OUR POSITION AGAINST THE IMPERIALIST WAR OF AGGRESSION OF RUSSIAN IMPERIALISM AGAINST UKRAINE

The aggression of Russian imperialism against Ukraine is an unjust war of aggression, the criminal aggression of an atomic superpower against an oppressed country. Thus, the main contradiction of our time, imperialism-oppressed nations, is expressed again, this is what is happening and not something else. Do not let yourself be confused.

The Third Plenum of the Communist Party of Peru correctly stated that:

To see this we have to remember or re-study what Chairman Mao says about contradiction (in volume I, on page 354 and the following page)In a semi-colonial country such as China, the relationship between the principal contradiction and the non-principal contradictions presents a complicated picture; and raises three possibilities: the first is When imperialism launches a war of aggression against such a country, all its various classes, except for some traitors, can temporarily unite in a national war against imperialismthat is the first one, that is so, when the imperialists unleash a war of aggression, invade a country, then obviously it is invaded, when Japan invades China, when Japan invades Korea or when the US invades Vietnam or when the social-imperialism that led in the USSR invades Afghanistan, there the contradiction is nation-imperialism, but what makes the difference is the aggression, it goes to conquer, to subjugate, for its world interests of whatever it is, in other words there is no revolution, that is the third case, in other words when there is an aggression in accordance with its world conflicts it attacks a country and takes possession of it, that is the first case, he says”.i

After discussing the other two possibilities, which are not relevant here, Chairman Gonzalo concludes on the first possibility by summarising as follows:

when imperialism invades, unleashes aggression without there being a revolution, that was a predominant case in the previous century, which all the great powers did, and it happens in this century when there is no revolution but imperialism, because of its hegemonic struggles, leads to this, that’s how it happens“.ii

Consequently in the present case, the question is, that with the Russian imperialist invasion of Ukraine, the contradiction nation-imperialism has become the principal contradiction in Ukraine. Therefore, it is possible, and moreover necessary for us, that the different classes in this country, except for a small number of traitors, temporarily unite in a national war against imperialism. The complex situation between the imperialist (super)powers, the oppressed nations and the rotten regimes of the sell-outs, in combination with the extensive propaganda of the various parties involved, which has been going on for years, harbours the possibility of losing one’s orientation. We must guard against this and clearly emphasise the class character and the main contradiction without losing sight of the third contradiction, that is the imperialist struggle.

This war of aggression of Russian imperialism against Ukraine is the result of its contention with Yankee imperialism for hegemony after decades of encirclement of Russia by Yankee imperialism, with its “allies” in NATO and its constant attempts to destroy Russia’s nuclear capabilities. This is the other contradiction that is expressed in the current developments, that is, the inter-imperialist contradiction.

The direct invasion of Ukraine by Russian imperialism is the consequence of a development that began with the revisionist Khrushchev and the restoration of capitalism in the former socialist Soviet Union – here the transformation of Ukraine into a semi-colony of social-imperialism – until the collapse of revisionism and the dissolution of the Soviet Union, i.e. imperialist struggle, without revolution, without real independence, but only a change of hands: a complex interplay of the different interests of the imperialist superpowers and powers, oppressed nations and rotten regimes of traitors, the corrupt, agents of the different powers, etc.

In the process that preceded the current war, it is obvious to all how the Yankee imperialists, in collusion with the British, French and German imperialists, using Poland especially, committed subversion against the Yanukovych regime, initiated and led the Euromaidan, initiated and managed the new Ukrainian regime that pushed them more and more into the conflict with Russia with all possible means. Likewise, the actions of the Yankees and their “allies”, the ever increasing encirclement of Russia, with the final aim of neutralising its nuclear arsenal and finally bringing Russia to surrender, to subjugation, have attacked Russian imperialism precisely through these manoeuvres of Zelensky. This threatened its own borders. The Russian proposal for a spoils-sharing agreement last December was abandoned because the Yankees, in their anti-Russia strategy, had more time to consider the principal internal development in Russia, the positioning of different groups of the different factions and groups of the ruling classes there, to wait and see in this difficult and extremely tense situation, to register the results of the latest developments. We repeat: imperialist Russia is on the defensive because it has not had the recovery they expected in the present century after the dissolution of the revisionist Soviet empire, in this defensive situation they carry out offensive actions, like now with the invasion of Ukraine, in order to gain the initiative. This is a necessary condition for them not to sink any further.

In this complex situation as described above, what we have to propagandise, “is that people’s war is the form that corresponds to the revolutionary struggle. However, revolutionary wars or armed struggles that are not subject to people’s war [deserve our support] as long as they do not depend on powers or superpowers. Some people tell us how they will win if they don’t have the support of anyone. We don’t want that support because what it does is to pass us from one exploiting hand to another” (PCP, Putting the MRDP into Action, November-December 1987)iii

We repeat: the invader is Russian imperialism, the spoils in dispute is the oppressed nation of Ukraine. We cannot and must not accept it. Never. Therefore, it is right to raise the just anti-imperialist slogan: Death to the invader! We wish and support, first of all, the defeat of the criminal Russian imperialist invader. At the same time, we demarcate ourselves from the lackey regime of the Yankee imperialists – We have no support for the Zelensky regime. Furthermore, we consistently reject any direct or indirect interference or intervention by the other imperialist powers.

The Ukrainian people must, can and will liberate themselves by their own efforts, sweat and blood with the frank and unrestricted support of the international proletariat and the peoples of the world. For this, our class in Ukraine must reconstitute its Communist Party as a militarised, Marxist-Leninist-Maoist Communist Party, heir to the great and glorious CPSU, the party of Lenin and Stalin. Only such a party, opposite and opposed to all bourgeois parties! – can really lead the national liberation struggle to victory as part of the struggle for socialist revolution (counter-restoration) and bring the criminals stained with the blood of the class and the people to the people’s justice. Our solidarity is with the Ukrainian people and their resistance. Their armament is correct, necessary and important. They must form their own military detachments. We defend the fraternal friendship of the Ukrainian and Russian peoples against the “Great Russian” chauvinists. The Ukrainian and Russian peoples are brothers and as such were the victors over German fascism and were the builders of socialism under the leadership of comrade Stalin. Our class in both Russia and Ukraine has the task of leading the proletarian socialist revolution as a counter-restoration through people’s war. But the Ukrainian proletariat and people have a task as an oppressed nation, that is to free themselves from the yoke of imperialism, at this moment to smash the Russian imperialist invaders.

In the face of the invasion of the Russian atomic superpower, the masses in Ukraine are mobilised and active, but they lack just and correct leadership and direction. By distinguishing the true patriots from the agents of foreign powers, by practising independence, self-support and relying on their own efforts together with the solidarity of the international proletariat and the peoples of the world, by practising a correct united front policy with all those who are ready to fight against the invader and for the true independence of Ukraine, the Ukrainian people will free themselves from the imperialist yoke. We must vigorously support this impulse of the masses. And to the comrades, the true patriots of Ukraine, we cry out: take the weapons that are being distributed, drive out the invaders and conquer their weapons too. Then, turn the war against the sellouts and lead the establishment of a own state. Reject the calls for the help of Yankee imperialism, the sole hegemonic imperialist superpower, self-proclaimed world gendarme and main enemy of the peoples of the world, its “allies” in NATO or the German, French, and British imperialists, especially their military and economical support, because it is the handing over of the country to other imperialists. The ones who makes this call are not real patriots, they are simply agents of foreign powers. The struggle may be hard and protracted, but it will be victorious; it is the only form of true patriotic war for an independent Ukraine. We must not let the tiger in through the back door when we fight the bear through the front door.

At the same time, of course, the cynical and hypocritical lies of the NATO leaders, who babble about a turning point that this war supposedly represents, must also be exposed, for what peace have they brought to the peoples of Yugoslavia, what peace have the masses in Donbass seen since 2014? Pax Americana means nothing but war, everywhere in the world, Europe included.

They are shocked, they claim, but NATO, i.e. the Yankees, in the person of Joe Biden, have thrown Ukraine to Russian imperialism. In the collusion and struggle, the struggle is absolute and the collusion is temporary and relative, but above all conspiracy at the moment. Not for nothing is the Biden regime working on a military hotline with the Russians, a “back channel of communication” between US General Mark Milley, Russian General Valery Gerasimov and US General Tod Wolters for NATO, to “allow officals from both countries to exchange information”iv.

The war itself does not mean that collusion no longer exists. It is still prevailing on a general level, that is why we are not facing a third world war, because no imperialist is in a position to start it yet, because the strategic balance between the single hegemonic superpower, US imperialism, and the atomic superpower, Russian imperialism, still exists; the period of world history of the struggle between imperialist masters and the struggle against them is not over yet. But in any hot spot, such as eastern Ukraine at present, the spark of the third world war can be ignited.

According to Putin himself, Russian imperialism will not conquer Ukraine: “At the same time, our plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories”v. Why? Not because it doesn’t want to, but because it can’t. It’s impossible! Let us realise the weight of the masses. No imperialist power, no matter how much military arsenal it has at its disposal, can conquer mega-cities without accepting enormous human and material losses. And the Russian imperialists’ own internal situation does not permit this. Let us remember the ongoing disaster in Iraq and, in particular, the victory of the Afghan people last year: 20 years of occupation and terrorist bombing could not break the will of the masses to fight. Moreover, there are the lessons of the Second World War. Both sides, especially the senior officers, also know each other from Afghanistan. Even inside Russia, while we see the emerging anti-war protests against the killing of brethren, the Putin administration has only limited its room for manoeuvre. That is why it has not called it by its proper name of war, but by the euphemistic “military operation”.

This is the trap Putin fell into. A somewhat desperate move to at least loosen the noose around his neck, in the hope of gaining something. At best, a Russian Manchuko in southern and eastern Ukraine, at least a neutral buffer between him and NATO. After a week of war, it is clear that there has been some miscalculation on the part of Russia. Things are not progressing as quickly as planned and hoped, especially in the east, and even if they claim air sovereignty, the Ukrainian regime can still carry out at least isolated actions. Dozens of Russian planes and helicopters are said to have been shot down, and even cruise missiles cost a fortune. Moreover, the Yankees and their accomplices appear to be arming Ukraine for protracted urban warfare. In addition to sanctions, it is these ruinous costs of war that develop in the very spirit of Yankee imperialism.

Even if there is much talk of a turning point, the situation in the world has not (yet) fundamentally changed, even with the unjust war of aggression. We insist. However, the weakening of Russian imperialism does not only play into the hands of the Yankees and their accomplices. China could benefit even more from this.

In the area of the economy, closer Sino-Russian cooperation seems evident in the area of raw material exports from Russia to China and the export of semi-finished and finished products from China to Russia. The Chinese themselves are celebrating the “de-dollarisation” of Sino-Russian trade, which is boosting the yuan enormouslyvi. But experts are sceptical about the significance of this for both dollar-dominated economies. That is why the newspaper El País of 03 March 2021 published an article in which it says that China can offer Russia a lifeline, but not save it. All these measures of “de-dollarisation” are more propaganda than effective, because the world order by which the so-called dollar economy has been imposed is the order emanating from the Second World War, a new economic order can only emerge from a new world war, with a new hegemonic superpower to replace Yankee imperialism. But we are sure that in that case, imperialism will no longer be able to exist because the world people’s war will sweep it away.

In the political sphere, we do see a neutral position of Chinese social-imperialism on the war in Ukraine in the UN Security Council. However, it sends “strong signals to the world that the relations and trust between China and Russia is tangible and firm despite US-led Western attempts to sow division between them using the crisis”vii. To this point: “Xi said China supports Russia in solving the issue …”viii. China and Russia suffered a setback at the last UN General Assembly in dealing with aggression in Ukraine where even many African countries closely linked to social-imperialist China voted to condemn Russian aggression. This makes it difficult for them to advance in Africa.

The flood of arms in Europe is an interesting aspect of the current development, especially the uncontrolled distribution of assault rifles in large quantities to anyone who can carry a weapon, without registration or anything else. At the same time, further militarisation, especially of the EU and thus mainly of the FRG. Germany’s European Commission President von der Leyen said: “For the first time ever, the European Union will finance the purchase and delivery of weapons and other equipment to a country that is under attack. This is a watershed moment.”ix A turning point! The German chancellor said something similar: “we accept the challenge that now faces us … that Germany will supply Ukraine with weapons for the country’s defence. … To make it possible, the Bundeswehr needs new, strong capabilities … a major national undertaking … Better equipment, modern technology, more personnel … 100 billion euro … We will now – year after year – invest more than two percent of our gross domestic product in our defence. … the next generation of combat aircraft and tanks … are our utmost priority.”x

There is a whole range of developments that should not be ignored, that are more or less or not at all directly related to this conflict. We should not adopt the media one-sidedness of blindly focusing on Ukraine: in the Central African Republic, for example, four French soldiers from MINUSCA troops who were obviously organising a coup were captured. However, at the end of last week they had to be released: “Under the agreement that governs relations between the UN peacekeeping mission and the government, “we cannot hear them before a judge and, faced with this obstacle, the prosecution decided to proceed without further action,” prosecutor Didier Tambo.“xi In northern Syria, according to reports confirmed by both sides, there have been military clashes between Yankee PKK-YPG-SDF mercenaries and Assad’s troops in the service of Russian imperialism, and Yankee soldiers themselves are said to have been directly involved.xii
