We are going ahead with learning new songs, and will soon record. Perhaps at the end of July. This effort will culminate in putting out a 7" on Stiff Hombre Records, Tyler Stranglehold's label. We hope to put at least a dozen songs on the fucking thing. We haven't played a show since the Jay Brown Memorial at the end of January, which went fucking great. Since then, we've been concentrating on tightening up, and getting new songs together. I am excited about the upcoming recording and record, and we are thinking about doing a small run of t-shirts also. Everything is up in the air right now, and it's an exciting feeling.
The fucking chaos that is the world, the fucked up leaders, followers, apathetic assholes, the soft "left", all of this is truly inspirational. Uprisings, the Occupy Movement, the Quebec protests and challenging of the government there, the Maoist Revolution in India, Peru, the Philippines, Turkey, along with the continuing struggles in Nepal, the Middle East, the RCP and Chairman Bob Avakian, all of this is also inspirational. We are all interconnected. Without all of this, this music would not exist. Once again to all of those motherfuckers who cry about "keeping politics out of music" can go shit in their fucking hats. This is fucking real, and if you want to go and simply try to offend mainstream society, yawn fucking yawn. We have the luxury of ignoring the world, while people are trying to fucking survive, and at times just trying to make it home alive. Fuck. Just talk to all of the women you know who have been assaulted. You definitely know a few. Let's keep this in mind.
Read this quote from Bob Avakian:
The role of the police is not to serve and protect the people. It is to serve and protect the system that rules over the people. To enforce the relations of exploitation and oppression, the conditions of poverty, misery and degradation into which the system has cast people and is determined to keep people in. The law and order the police are about, with all of their brutality and murder, is the law and the order that enforces all this oppression and madness.
Fuck yes. And further...
"Look at all these beautiful children who are female in the world."
"And in addition to all the other outrages which I have referred to, in terms of children throughout the slums and shantytowns of the Third World, in addition to all the horrors that will be heaped on them—the actual living in garbage and human waste in the hundreds of millions as their fate, laid out before them, yes, even before they are born—there is, on top of this, for those children who are born female, the horror of everything that this will bring simply because they are female in a world of male domination. And this is true not only in the Third World. In 'modern' countries like the U.S. as well, the statistics barely capture it: the millions who will be raped; the millions more who will be routinely demeaned, deceived, degraded, and all too often brutalized by those who are supposed to be their most intimate lovers; the way in which so many women will be shamed, hounded and harassed if they seek to exercise reproductive rights through abortion, or even birth control; the many who will be forced into prostitution and pornography; and all those who—if they do not have that particular fate, and even if they achieve some success in this 'new world' where supposedly there are no barriers for women—will be surrounded on every side, and insulted at every moment, by a society and a culture which degrades women, on the streets, in the schools and workplaces, in the home, on a daily basis and in countless ways."
