Last Friday night, I was able to bear witness to Alcoholic White Trash's last show. I've expressed before how AWT and AK-47 couldn't be farther apart lyrically and ideologically, but they are all decent individuals. If you don't get what they were doing, too bad.
The band was together for over 14 years, and were a living link to the late Jay Brown, who had helped start the band. They managed to gain a large following of loyal fans, who will look back on AWT shows with fondness and nostalgia. As always, AWT put on an amazing live show, due in no small part to Roy's frenetic antics as the band's front man. The man can be the most obnoxious fucker in the universe on stage, but off the stage, he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
They will be missed. Hopefully we'll see the various members in other bands sooner rather than later....
