It makes sense that as residents of an imperialist country, we have a tendency to think that we somehow deserve to be living off of the exploitation of Third World people, and that things that seem horrifying to us over here are considered acceptable everywhere else. I despise this point of view, but it is fucking everywhere, even with some supposed "enlightened" liberal types. Take our own idiot mayor, lisa helps, for what she has to say about homeless people in this city:
