We have been conditioned to think in terms of "freedom" and "democracy" in opposition to "totalitarianism" and "dictatorship", and of course to equate the free market with freedom also. I'm fairly certain that the people working in Third World sweatshops making garments and other things for sale in the imperialist countries might not agree with this analysis.
