In the wake of all of the crazy shit that white men are doing in the u.s., what with the mass shootings and all of that shit, I think it's time trump started forced detention camps for young ( and old ) white men who can't seem to help themselves when it comes to extremely violent crime. It must be something genetic that they can't get rid of. The only solution is to lock 'em all up, of course .
Texas shootings: Random gun attacks leave five dead
Image copyrightAFPImage captionVictims were shot at random, police say
At least five people have been killed and many more injured in the second mass shooting in the US state of Texas in a month.
First to be shot was a policeman who stopped the gunman's car between the cities of Midland and Odessa.
The gunman went on to shoot at numerous motorists and passers-by. At one point, he abandoned his car and stole a postal truck before continuing his spree.
He was shot dead by police at a cinema complex.
The motive of the gunman, who was white and in his mid-30s, is unclear.
About 20 people were injured - three of them police officers - in this latest incident of gun violence in America, although the police say not all of them were shot. Some may have been cut by glass as their car windows shattered when they were hit by bullets.
Odessa's Medical Center Hospital said a child under the age of two was among those being treated there. Seven of its other patients are in a serious condition.
Police said Saturday's incident began at just after 15:00 local time (20:00 BST) after two Texas Department of Public Safety officers pulled over a vehicle on a Midland highway.
The driver then opened fire on the officers and, after driving away, began shooting at other people in several locations.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement that he was "horrified to see such a senseless act".
In another statement, the state's Governor Greg Abbott said: "We will not allow the Lone Star State to be overrun by hatred and violence. We will unite, as Texans always do, to respond to this tragedy."
In a tweet, US President Donald Trump said he was being kept informed about the shootings in Texas.
Later, Vice President Mike Pence said he and the Trump administration "remain absolutely determined to work with leaders in both parties in Congress to take steps that we can address and confront this scourge of mass atrocity in our country".
Some of the more naive amongst us might be surprised at the existence of nazis in the kkkanadian military , but this isn't the first last or only time this has been the case. If there's one, aren't there many more of these fucking parasites hidden in their ranks ? The imperialist military is a perfect breeding ground for this type of rotten disease , and I don't expect it to go away anytime soon.

The Canadian military reservist accused of having connections to a neo-Nazi group has gone missing after being relieved of his army duties.
The Department of National Defence said Tuesday that Master Cpl. Patrik Mathews, 26, will no longer participate in any military activities and will not return to work.
The military had been investigating him since the spring due to alleged links to a hate group called “The Base,” a sister organization to the neo-Nazi group “Atomwaffen.” Mathews joined the reserves in 2010 and had been a combat engineer with the 38 Canadian Brigade Group based in Winnipeg.
Manitoba RCMP released a handout photo of Master Cpl. Patrik Matthews, 26, who was last seen by family members in Beausejour on the evening of August 24, 2019.
RCMP released a photo of a truck similar to the one Master Cpl. Patrik Mathews was last seen driving. He is believed to be driving a red 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT with Manitoba licence plate number: HXJ 806.
RCMP officers raided a home registered to Mathews last week, where they seized several firearms, but did not charge anyone with a crime.
Manitoba RCMP now says that Mathews' family has reported him missing. He has not been seen since Saturday.
"This is a missing person investigation, there is no warrant for arrest and there are no charges pending against the individual," the RCMP said in a news release.
Mathews was never issued any military weapons during his time as a reservist, as is standard policy, a DND spokesperson said in a statement. He had also returned all of his military equipment, including his rucksack, sleeping equipment and camouflage uniforms.
While the search for Mathews is being carried out by police, the Canadian Armed Forces will cooperate “in any way we can,” the spokesperson said, adding “we hope for the safe return of MCpl Mathews to his family.”
Mathews’ voluntary release from the forces will not be finalized for another few weeks.
He is believed to be driving a red 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT with Manitoba licence plate number HXJ 806.
This is the way it is in the usa at the moment. The second the fuckface "president"doesn't like what he hears, he gets it censored , or mud is thrown at the opponent. If not him personally, then one of his servile bootlicking fucking minions will do it for him . Fuck their entire regime and system.
Cheers to Art Spiegelman: Censored by Marvel Comics for Comparing Trump to the Nazis of the 1930s-40s
| revcom.us
Art Spiegelman is an acclaimed graphic novelist who won a Pulitzer Prize for Maus, based on his father’s experience as a Polish Jew during the Holocaust, and the effect it had on him for the rest of his life. Maus was the first graphic novel to win a Pulitzer. Spiegelman is also a scholar of comics and graphic literature.
Spiegelman was asked by publisher The Folio Society to write an introduction to a soon-to-be-published book, Marvel: The Golden Age, 1939-1949, a collection of comics ranging from Captain America to The Human Torch.
Spiegelman submitted an essay that among other things examined the role such comics played for youth in the tumultuous and often terrifying years of the depression and World War 2, providing them
with mythic—almost god-like—secular saviours to deal with the threatening economic dislocations that surrounded them in the great depression and gave shape to their premonitions of impending global war. Comics allowed readers to escape into fantasy by projecting themselves on to invulnerable heroes.
Spiegelman went on to say:
Auschwitz and Hiroshima make more sense as dark comic book cataclysms than as events in our real world. In today’s all too real world, Captain America’s most nefarious villain, the Red Skull, is alive on screen and an Orange Skull haunts America. International fascism again looms large (how quickly we humans forget—study these golden age comics hard, boys and girls!) and the dislocations that have followed the global economic meltdown of 2008 helped bring us to a point where the planet itself seems likely to melt down. Armageddon seems somehow plausible and we’re all turned into helpless children scared of forces grander than we can imagine, looking for respite and answers in superheroes flying across screens in our chapel of dreams.
After submitting the essay, Spiegelman was informed by the publisher that Marvel demanded that he remove the reference to Trump (the “Orange Skull” that “haunts America”) or they would not publish his essay. It turns out that the CEO of Marvel Entertainment, Isaac Perlmutter, is a close friend, a close adviser, and major financial supporter of Trump.
Spiegelman refused to give in to this censorship, and instead withdrew his essay. Afterwards he wrote in The Guardian:
I didn’t think of myself as especially political compared with some of my fellow travellers, but when asked to kill a relatively anodyne [inoffensive] reference to an Orange Skull I realised that perhaps it had been irresponsible to be playful about the dire existential threat we now live with, and I withdrew my introduction.
He added that he has been forced to learn “yet again, that everything is political.
There is no doubt that "president" trump is a buffoon , and a total fucking idiot. That being said, he is the head of the most rapacious country the world has ever seen , and it has been so since it's founding . It seems that some otherwise well meaning people have taken the narrative of america having "lost it's way", whatever the fuck that's supposed to mean . Lost it's way from what ? Where the fuck was it going ? From the genocide of the Native Peoples, to the building of the country through slavery , to invading whatever country they felt like invading in order to steal from them at any given time , the history of that country is drenched in blood and oppression, and continues to be so. Whether it be clinton, bush , obama , and now the new fuckface, this is just a continuation of what amerikkka has always been . trump might be that much worse, but it's still consistent with what's been going on the entire time. Here's just a taste of what they've done : american crime . Thank you and good day, assholes.
There's no need to dig for conspiracy theories or saying the obvious, that trump and amerikkka is always fucking lying. Fake news my ass. These are straight up lies. The attacks on immigrants is a total fucking crime against humanity. In fact , the entire imperialist system is a crime against humanity , and should be done away with by any means necessary at the earliest possible time.
In the Last Month Alone: Mass Murder, Death, Torture, Roundups, Threats, Terror, Assaults on Basic Rights—The Escalating Fascist Offensive Against Immigrants
| revcom.us
The Trump/Pence regime’s fascist offensive against immigrants is advancing rapidly and relentlessly. Here are some of its main assaults in the last month alone.
July 14: Trump unleashes barrage of racist, anti-immigrant tweetsdirected at four Democratic congresswomen of color—Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar. He demanded the four, all U.S. citizens, “go back to the crime-infested places from which they came.” A few days later the chant “send her back” was taken up at a Trump rally.
July 15: Trump/Pence regime announces plan effectively barring Central American and other migrants from seeking asylum at the U.S. border on the grounds they had to first apply in countries they had traveled through. (The rule has been temporarily blocked in federal court.)
July 22:
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) begins DNA testing on asylum seekers, threatening to separate families if they don’t allow it.
Trump/Pence regime expands expedited removals of undocumented immigrants without court hearings—potentially impacting and denying due process to 300,000 people. Such expedited removals were previously used for immigrants in the U.S. two weeks or less, apprehended near the border. Now they’re being applied to immigrants anywhere who’ve been in the U.S. two years or less.
July 23:
Immigration police in Texas release U.S. citizen after holding him for three weeks. The 18-year-old Latino high school student had been going to a soccer tryout and was detained at a Border Patrol checkpoint despite having proof of citizenship. He lost 26 pounds while being held by ICE.
The Office of Refugee Resettlement, part of U.S. Health and Human Services Department, revealed that thousands of migrant children are languishing in border detention and could be imprisoned indefinitely. According to former officials, Trump policies are having a chilling impact on possible sponsors for them.
July 25: Seventh person dies in ICE custody since last October. The 44-year-old Mexican immigrant, Pedro Arriago-Santoya, had been jailed at the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia. He is the fourth person to die in this prison in the last two years.
July 26:
U.S. and Guatemala sign agreement blocking Honduran and Salvadoran migrants from applying for asylum in the U.S. The agreement, signed after threats by Trump, would force migrants traveling through Guatemala to apply for asylum there instead of at the U.S.-Mexico border.
U.S. Supreme Court allows Trump to bypass congressional authority and use $2.5 billion in military funds to build his border wall.
July 28: A white supremacist, targeting immigrants, massacres three and wounds 15 at Gilroy, California Garlic Festival. The three murdered were 6, 13, and 25 years old.
August 1: Salvadoran migrant dies in Border Patrol custody. The 32-year-old father was being held in New Mexico. He is at least the 15th migrant, including seven children, to die in U.S. custody (ICE, Border Patrol, or other agencies) since September 2018.
August 2-3: Immigrant hunger strikers assaulted in Louisiana ICE Detention Center. Over 100 were teargassed, beaten, and shot with rubber bullets after they launched a hunger strike. Some 30 hunger strikers at another Louisiana facility were pepper sprayed the day before. According to Mother Jones magazine, ICE is now detaining over 54,000 people, an all-time high. This is“up from about 34,000 on an average day in 2016 and well above the 40,520 target Congress set for ICE” as part of a deal struck between the Trump/Pence regime and Congress to reduce detentions as a condition for more funding.
August 3: A white supremacist, echoing Trump rhetoric, targets Latinos and murders 22 at an El Paso Walmart. His fascist manifesto stated he was “defending my country from cultural and ethnic replacement brought on by an invasion.”
August 6:
Greek-born immigrant of Iraqi descent dies in Iraq two months after being deported from the U.S. Jimmy Aldaoud, a 41-year-old man with diabetes and mental illness, died from a lack of insulin. He had been brought to the U.S. as an infant, had never been in Iraq, and spoke no Arabic.
ICE agents attempt to raid Brooklyn homeless shelter. They were turned away after failing to produce a warrant.
August 7:
ICE agents arrest 680 immigrants in mass sweep of poultry plants in Mississippi. This was one of the largest immigration raids in U.S. history. Without warning or help, children were left without their parents, traumatized and crying.
Armed Trump supporter arrested outside an El Paso organizing center for immigrant activists.
August 12:
Trump/Pence regime imposes new rule punishing immigrants seeking aid. Officials can now deny green cards and visa applications to any who seek Medicaid, food stamps, housing vouchers, or other legal public funds. Immigrants with lower incomes or less education could be denied permanent status (green card), which is necessary in order to apply for citizenship, on the grounds they may need assistance in the future. The rule is aimed at limiting family-based immigration from non-white countries and could lead to deportations of immigrants with temporary status who are settled in the U.S. but violate the new rules.
Trump’s Director of Citizenship and Immigration Services, Ken Cuccinelli, defended the new rule by saying that the Statue of Liberty’s message (“Give me your tired, your poor...) was always about those “who can stand on their own two feet and who will not become a public charge,” and are “coming from Europe.”
August 14:
Trump’s ban on Temporary Protected Status (TPS)—impacting hundreds of thousands—now before federal court. Trump’s ban on TPS, which was temporarily blocked by the courts last October, is now being heard in a federal court. If the court allows Trump’s ban, some 300,000 immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Syria could be deported and their families torn apart.
Prison guard drives truck into anti-detention protesters in Rhode Island. The protest, organized by the Jewish activist group Never Again Action, was demanding that the ICE concentration camps be closed. Five protesters were hospitalized (two from the truck assault, three from being pepper sprayed by other guards).
August 15: Federal court denies Trump/Pence attempt to deny soap and toothpaste to migrant children. The Trump/Pence regime had argued it was not required to provide basic necessities or safe sanitary conditions to children detained at the border. According to a New York Times report (August 16), the regime may try to “upend” the court ruling and existing regulations with new ones.
It was a great Monday night show at the Cavity Curiosity Shop , featuring my favourite new band Knife Manual , along with Victoria Oi ! rockers Off The Clock, and California straightedge band The Choice . As always, there were stupid fucking rumours flying around about how The Choice were a bunch of militant assholes who would fight you if they saw you drinking , and other idiotic shit. Untrue, of course. They were as cool as can be, and rocked the fucking place . Knife Manual were great as always, and I can't wait for them to record soon. Their under twenty minute sets are killer . They have a great aggressive/fun energy. Do not miss them next time they play. Sadly, Off The Clock will be done soon . They also put on a great set, with singer Will being a great energetic and enjoyable frontman to watch. We'll be playing with them at a house show on the 14th of September . I'm not at liberty to post the address here. You'll have to find out elsewhere. Sorry . It was a great Monday night , and Andy is a gem for having shows at his shop. I love the venue, and it's always a great vibe there. See you at the next show, assholes !
No human being trying to escape imperialist imposed poverty and starvation is fucking illegal. It's the assholes trying to declare them to be that should be considered fucking illegal . Fuck trump and everyone who consider themselves his fucking "ally" . The Revolutionaries and their supporters show people time and again what should be done, never mind any bullshit unjust law that's been passed. Fuck them and their fucking laws. Read:
Protests Nationwide Demand: Horrific Assaults on Immigrants Must Stop
| revcom.us

There were dozens of protests large and small in towns and cities around the country this weekend expressing anger and outrage at the horrific assault on Latino immigrants by the Trump/Pence regime’s Gestapo ICE agents in Mississippi, coming on the heels of the mass murder of Mexicans and Latinos by a white supremacist in El Paso.
On Saturday, August 10, about 700 protesters marched through Manhattan streets to the West Side Highway. Shortly after 1:00 p.m., 100 marchers, with signs saying “Abolish ICE” and “Close the Camps” sat down and locked arms, blocking all lanes of the very busy highway for at least 30 minutes. Immigrant rights group Cosecha, climate action group Extinction Rebellion, progressive Jewish groups, and a wide range of other political and religious organizations came together in the protest. Police arrested about 100 of the protesters for “disorderly conduct,” but not before traffic had been massively disrupted.
Also over the weekend, hundreds protested outside the Los Angeles Metropolitan Detention Facility; hundreds in Seattle targeted the downtown ICE facility; hundreds more protested the ICE facility in Kankakee, Illinois—these and others were part of the Jewish group Never Again Action’s nationwide campaign demanding #CloseTheCamps and a stop to immigrant deportations. Hundreds demonstrated in DC, and other actions took place in Raleigh, North Carolina; Portland, Oregon; Tucson, Arizona; Salt Lake City, Utah; Philadelphia; Kenosha, Wisconsin; and many other cities.
On Thursday, August 8, a press conference condemning the ICE raids the day before was held in Jackson, Mississippi, which included the immigrant rights group MIRA, NAACP, ACLU, and church groups.
RefuseFascism.org called people into the streets over three days, Friday August 9, to Sunday August 11, in the wake of the El Paso massacre and ICE raids in Mississippi, and fought for people to take up the challenge of driving out the Trump/Pence fascist regime through nonviolent, sustained mass protest. See here for sights and sounds from the three days.
As we write on Sunday, August 11, protesters connected with Never Again Action and #ClosetheCamps have been arrested after blocking the entrance to the Howard County, Maryland, Detention Center for over four hours this afternoon; and others have been arrested at Amazon Books in Manhattan for organizing a sit-in demanding Amazon Web Service end its technical support for ICE.
This article by Revolutionaries involved with the fight for immigrant rights and against fascism put everything into perspective beautifully. Read it.
Op-Ed: The LAPD spied on our group. Here’s why we shut down the 101 Freeway
Protesters shut down the 101 Freeway twice in the fall of 2017.
(Los Angeles Times)
By MIGUEL ALEX ANTONIO AND CHANTELLE HERSHBERGER
AUG. 9, 2019
4 AM
One of us grew up on the hard streets of South-Central Los Angeles. One of us moved from small-town Ohio to pursue a career in fashion. We are from different backgrounds, but on two separate mornings, we stood together to bring traffic on the 101 Freeway to a halt.
The first time we stopped freeway traffic was in September 2017, about a month after Heather Heyer was killed during peaceful counterprotests of the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Va. At the time, Donald Trump said there were “fine people” among the torch-bearing white supremacists. We went back out onto the freeway two months later to unfurl a 50-foot banner that read “Trump/Pence Regime Must Go.”
Our freeway actions were completely nonviolent and had been planned carefully to ensure they were safe and well-executed. What we didn’t know until much later was that some of our meetings to discuss the state of the world and our actions in response to it had been infiltrated by an undercover spy sent in by the Los Angeles Police Department.
The city of Los Angeles waited almost a year to bring a total of 57 charges against us and nine other activists who took part in nonviolent protests, both on the freeway and at UCLA. As part of that case, police reports and transcripts were released documenting how, on four occasions in 2017, an LAPD informant secretly attended and recorded meetings of our group, Refuse Facism, at the Echo Park church where we met.
The informant reported on discussions in our meetings about fundraising, ordering pamphlets, getting a permit, planning a route for a march, and “moving ordinary people into active opposition.” At least that bit of note-taking was accurate: Moving ordinary people into active opposition against a regime we believe has descended into fascism was exactly what we were trying to do. Nothing short of removing this whole illegitimate regime from power will stop this nightmare, and that will take millions of people acting together in sustained, nonviolent, determined protest.
The infiltration of our group hearkens back to the LAPD’s past. In his book “Policing Los Angeles: Race, Resistance, and the Rise of the LAPD,” Max Felker-Kantor documented how during the 1970s and early 1980s, the department’s Public Disorder Intelligence Division spied on thousands of groups and individuals. After an ACLU lawsuit revealed the full scope of the spying, the division was disbanded, and its activities curtailed. But the department now has an anti-terrorism division, which was involved in the investigation of our group.
Our group is concerned about fascist rule. Having our private meetings infiltrated by a police spy suggests that we’re right to worry. The 1st Amendment right of free speech is being challenged across the nation. Since Trump’s election, 35 states and the federal government have either passed or introduced anti-protest legislation.
Earlier this summer, our case came to trial. When we took the stand and were asked why we blocked the freeway instead of just voting or attending the women’s march, we explained that we believed that the current threat to humanity and the planet required more from us than protesting for a day and going home.
History has shown us that fascism can absorb individual acts of resistance and gets normalized after waves of shock and outrage die down. The Trump/Pence regime has taken us through many such shocks, and “the new normal” now includes concentration camps at the border, where children continue to die and conditions are brutal. The response from civil society to this so far is shameful — which is exactly what we were trying to prevent.
Our supporters in the courtroom wore T-shirts that read: “Would you have convicted the people who hid Anne Frank?” With our action on the freeway, we were asking others to imagine what could have been different if people had acted BEFORE Anne Frank had to hide. Our trial ended with a hung jury after three days of deliberation, because the majority of jurors understood we were not criminals. But almost immediately, the city attorney’s office announced it would retry the case.
Later this month, we will once again stand trial for our action blocking the freeway. The LAPD and city attorney may disagree, but it should not be a crime to stand up against fascism. On the contrary, we hope everyone who cares about justice will join us.
Miguel Alex Antonio and Chantelle Hershberger are activists with Refuse Fascism and the Revolution Club
Do the fascist motherfuckers in power and their enforcers of the "rule of law " in the u.s. deserve any respect ? Should the people just wait until the next election to drive the pigs from power ? And what if the asshole get in again ? Do you just respect the process and wait some more ? Fuck no to all of these questions. Fuck trump, amerikkkan imperialism, and their stupidass elections.
ICE Raids in Mississippi Leave Children Stranded in the Streets and Crying for Their Parents... Massive Mississippi Raids Mark Major Step in FASCISM
| revcom.us
On August 7, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) raided seven food processing plants and arrested about 680 people in several Mississippi towns. The raids ripped holes in these communities, and were designed to terrorize people across the country. BuzzFeedNews reported that a pastor in one of the towns where a raid occurred said, “People are terrified. They’re scared to death.”
As the sun rose, a swarm of 600 ICE agents rolled off in buses across northern Mississippi and surrounded the plants. Gun toting agents pulled people off their lines, cuffed them and marched them in front of cameras in what ICE’s acting director called a “textbook operation.” A U.S. attorney boasted that this was the “largest single-state worksite enforcement action in the nation’s history.”
Children coming home from their first day of school found their parents gone. A Jackson TV station reported that “neighbors, and even strangers” picked up children dropped off at empty homes and took them to a local gym that became a makeshift shelter. A woman who went to the gym told a reporter she knew the mother of some boys there. She said, “[T]heir mom has been here for 15 years and she has no record.” A weeping Magdalena Gomez Gregorio, 11, said to a TV reporter, “Government, please show some heart. Let my parent be free with everybody else please…. I need my dad and mommy. My dad didn’t do anything, he’s not a criminal.”
Many people arrested were immediately transported to warehouses to be “interviewed, fingerprinted and photographed by ICE agents, processed for removal from the United States, and transported to an ICE facility in Jena, Louisiana,” (statement of the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of Mississippi). By the end of the day, about 300 of the people arrested had been released by ICE. Some of these people were juveniles, as young as 14.
Which Side Are You On?
ICE claimed it released some people on “humanitarian” grounds, to reunite children with their parents. This transparent lie is vicious even by ICE standards. ICE’s official statement says that “In all cases, all the illegal aliens encountered as part of this operation are either being placed into removal proceedings before the federal immigration courts, and for those who already received due process and have been ordered removed, processed for removal from the US.” In other words, ICE fully intends to deport everyone arrested.
The raids occurred during a week that saw mass slaughter of Mexican and Chicano people in El Paso. They came on the same day Trump visited El Paso, a city which has been central to his rabid, fascist attacks on Mexicans from the moment he launched his campaign for the presidency. These events are part of a process of ethnic cleansing, by the state, by white supremacist vigilantes, and racist mobs.
Then, on Friday after the Mississippi raids, Trump promised more of the same. “I want people to know that if they come into the United States illegally, they’re getting out; they’re going to be brought out. And this [the raids and the images of crying children] serves as a very good deterrent... I just hope they keep it up.”
Listen to what these fascists are telling you. The raids and arrests are going to intensify. They intend to deport everyone caught up in them. They don’t give a good goddamn about the kids and their families.
These horrors will continue on an even larger scale if they aren’t countered with fierce resistance by masses of people of all nationalities, immigrant and non-immigrant. A reporter for the New York Times quoted a Chicano lawyer in Texas who said after El Paso, “Many clients tell me, ‘We’re the new Jews, we’re just like the Jews.’” And remember, at the same time, Trump has been using straight-up Hitler-style language to describe the oppressed areas in which masses of Black people are forced to live, talking about “infestation” and “vermin.”
This is no time to put your hopes in the delusion that the Democrats will finally call for the kind of resistance needed to stop this fascist onslaught. They aren’t—and they can’t and they won’t. The Democrats represent the same system of capitalism-imperialism as the Republicans. This is a system whose vampire heart is nourished by ever more relentless exploitation of literally billions of people on this planet, backed up by the kind of cruel repression and violence on display in Mississippi, El Paso, and along the length of the border. If anything cries out for an actual revolution to overthrow this system, it is the demonization, criminalization, and massive deportation of immigrants—the ramping up of violent ethnic cleansing with a definite genocidal logic at its core.
Time is short, and decisions must be made. As the National Revolution Tour said in the statement on the El Paso massacre, “The question is, WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON? Are you on the side of white supremacy and fascism? Or are you on the side of ending this oppression?”
