At a thrift store today, I found the "Jettison" CD by phenomenal melodic punk band, Naked Raygun for two bucks.
Naked Raygun were huge for me at a time when my life was going through it's most important transition, from not so sober ( understatement ) to completely sober for the final time.
NR are not straightedge themselves, but their music I found so thought provoking , solid, and just so fucking good that they are forever imprinted on me from that time.
My band Section 46 played with them at the Union Hall in 1987 ( I think?), and then in the early 90s my band Lootbag played with Pegboy at The Cruel Elephant in Vancouver , which featured former members of Naked Raygun . Pegboy were also fucking great.
Today was a good day.
