Most recently I've been listening to Vancouver hardcore band Go It Alone , and if you haven't heard them you fucking should. They were labelled as a straightedge band, but they were so much more than that. Their lyrics and delivery were full of desperation and passion . They had a sound unlike many others in the SEHC scene , with exceptionally deep lyrics , and melody infused into their raging torrent of hardcore emotion. No, not fucking "emo" . They weren't as self-obsessed as any of that whiny nonsense.
