TO THOSE SAYING,
“WHY SHOULD I CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE IN GAZA”

The revcoms—revolutionary communists—have been out in South Central Los Angeles struggling with people to act against the U.S.-Israeli genocide in Palestine, as part of making revolution, here and around the world, and to get into the leadership of Bob Avakian.
In response, some people from the most oppressed under this system, have said, “Why should I give a fuck about the people in Gaza? We need to worry about and take care of people here, there’s homelessness, and people dying right here.”
We have heard this way too many times, sometimes even uglier comments with some people saying “fuck those people, I gotta do me.”
To those vomiting out the words of the oppressor, we say:
Why should you care about the people in Gaza who right now are facing a genocide? Because they are HUMAN BEINGS plain and simple. And like you, they are OPPRESSED—held down and ground up by a system run by the world’s biggest oppressor, America. We share a common situation of oppression—a common oppressor—and a common way out—REVOLUTION.
But here you are the oppressor. They got you doing exactly what they want you to do, being a good slave, opening your mouth and letting the master's words pour out. “That’s their problem, why should I care about them? I gotta deal with my problems over here.” Keep talking like this, you’ll remain in chains and you're condemning everyone else to stay in chains.
Look at the images, the videos of Palestinian people suffering tremendously, parents sobbing with their lifeless children in their arms from being bombed in their homes, in schools, in hospitals, with nowhere to run! Israel is doing this with the full support from American capitalism-imperialism—the same system that has kept you down and is keeping you down today. Your government is backing up its attack dog Israel in a genocidal war against the Palestinian people, and you won’t even lift a finger? Shame on you! Saying shit like this just makes you nothing more than a puppet! A fool!
Look what they've bought you off with. A little bit of goodies. Fucking trinkets. And where do you think those come from? Your government and fundamentally this system, bludgeons people all over the world into conditions of almost unspeakable suffering in order to keep this whole thing going.
All these goodies are here because we live under a system that has its tentacles all over the world conquering resources, controlling the economies and political systems and the lives of people. This system functions in cut-throat competition, ruthless exploitation to be able to maintain its top imperialist position in the world. This is the same goddamn system that mass incarcerates, has their pig police harass, brutalize and even murder people just like you. All this shit is completely unnecessary, but you got these fuckin’ blinders on that don’t allow you to see who the real enemy is or to see you are tied together with the Palestinian people both in your common oppression and in our liberation!
Will you stand with the oppressors? OR will you stand with the oppressed? Will you become an emancipator of humanity and be part of putting an end to all forms of exploitation and oppression not for yourself, but for all of humanity. Doing that requires letting go of this bullshit coming out your mouth. It means not turning away, but instead learning about what is happening to the people of Gaza, and more fundamentally looking at WHY this is happening. It means going to work to put an end to the oppressed and exploited conditions of people here and all over the world. It means going to work right now together with others in making a real revolution to overthrow this system. It means going to others who are saying the same bullshit you’re saying now and fighting with them to quit thinking and acting this way and get with the revolution.
This revolution is more possible now than it’s been in a long time—those at the top are fighting with each other over how to hold this monstrosity together. But if we don’t get people together, first in the thousands and then in the millions, to fight for a whole different system and a whole different future, we’ll face something even worse than we have today.
Get with the revcoms. Get with the revolution.

Instead of “staying in your lane,” and “going for self,” while this system is moving to even more decisively crush any hope for a world worth living in, people need to be looking at the bigger picture, focusing on the greater interests of humanity and the possibility for a far better world—and acting to make this a reality.
