The Government Media Office said on Saturday that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) dug up 1,100 graves in al-Tuffah cemetery, east of Gaza, and stole a number of corpses.
In a statement, the Media Office explained that the IOF used heavy military machinery and embarked on desecrating the martyrs’ bodies before stealing 150 of them that had been recently buried.
The Media Office described what happened as “another Israeli war crime committed by the Israeli occupation army during its genocidal war on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
The Media Office accused the Israeli army of intending to steal organs from the new seized bodies, affirming that the Israeli army recently handed over to a Palestinian medical crew mutilated and dissected bodies of 80 martyrs after taking them from graves in northern Gaza and central Gaza several weeks ago.
The Media Office also said that the Israeli army had already dug up graves in Jabalia and stole bodies from them, adding that the army refuses to return dozens of stolen corpses to Gaza.
In a related context, the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said on Saturday that it documented grave Israeli violations against at least 12 Palestinian cemeteries and makeshift graveyards in Gaza.
In a statement, Euro-Med explained that the Israeli army bulldozed and desecrated hundreds of graves and stole dozens of bodies from them as part of its genocidal war on Gaza, which started on October 7, 2023.
One of the makeshift graveyards is called “al-Batsh” in the east of Gaza City, where Israeli bulldozers reportedly dug up all the graves and crushed and tore apart some shrouded corpses before stealing dozens of bodies, according to Euro-Med
