I heard a statistic the other evening that said over 5,000 people in Victoria used food banks every month, and 1,600 of those were children. Also, the article below talks about how over three million people in kkkanada live below the poverty line, and over 30,000 are homeless on any given night. They also seem to think that it's possible to end homelessness. I think it is also, although unlikely as long as this system that puts profits ahead of human beings is till ruling over us. There is a giant poster up on a wall behind the counter of a emergency homeless shelter in Victoria, saying that we will end homelessness by the year 2018. The first time I saw it, I actually laughed, even while hoping that it would happen. I wonder if it's still there. They have 16 days left to make it happen. I wish them luck.
