I know I don't talk about music on here too much, especially lately, so I will right now.
Friday night at The Phoenix witnessed The Dayglos with Hung Up and Motorama. The place was packed, and every band fucking killed it.
Motorama are riff heavy rocking punk, Hung Up are in your face punk rock, and The Dayglos are so legendary I don't need to describe them . Suffice it to say that they are still at the top of their game. It was an amazing night of loud fast music.
Saturday night we got invited to play in Nanaimo for Jay Flett's birthday. It was an honour to be invited . Other locals Zero Coping Skills played, and they were excellent with their new guitarist and beautiful harmonies.
Nanaimo favourites ( with Jay on vocals ) Awkward AC played with their three guitar wall of sound , and displayed why everyone loves them so much. We played after that to a lovely and appreciative crowd, with the heavy rock sound of Dead Quiet being next. You wouldn't think that a band like that could fit in with a hardcore/punk lineup, but they did and were great.
It's been a great weekend.
See you all soon.
