As much as a cliche as you know " divide and rule " to be, it fucking works , that's why the ruling class uses it to their full fucking advantage.
Take for example the recent anti-Muslim riots in england. The brainless racists have been fired up to believe that their country is under threat, and their entire " way of life " ( whatever the fuck that means ) is being threatened also. So the morons react by attacking mosques and the people who attend them.
